Several human diseases have been linked to inner nuclear membrane (INM) proteins. However, not much is known about how these proteins are trafficked and retained at the nuclear periphery. GFP LacZ fusions to a C. elegans INM protein reveal it has a NLS that can not be predicted by current programs.
