Annual Faculty Awards Celebrate Excellence in Education and Innovation

Jeffrey Ross-Ibarra and Marina Ellefson receive 2024 CBS faculty awards

The college is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 CBS Faculty Teaching and Research Awards. These two prestigious awards honor faculty members who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to teaching and research, and highlight the integral role each plays in advancing the frontiers of biological sciences. 

Outstanding teaching ensures that our students receive a comprehensive and inspiring education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their future careers. Concurrently, groundbreaking research drives scientific discovery and innovation, addressing many of the most pressing challenges of our time. 

“Our faculty are a central source of pride and strength for our college. Their efforts to advance their respective fields of expertise, and to ensure outstanding educational opportunities for our students help UC Davis provide the world-class research and education our students and the public expect,” said Mark Winey, dean of the College of Biological Sciences. “Jeff and Marina are two outstanding faculty among many, and I am thrilled to see them receive this much-deserved recognition for their respective research and teaching efforts.”
